I shop Amazon all the time. This year I found a free web browser add-on that automatically searches for the lowest prices when you click on an Amazon product. A little pop-up in the left corner of your screen will tell you where to get the item even cheaper than Amazon. Usually it’s from an Amazon seller and you can just add the lower priced product to your cart. Sometimes it’s from a different site altogether. Either way, you find deals effortlessly!

I could have found something else to add to my cart but I probably would have spent more than if I just paid for shipping. So what to do? There are many tips and hacks to find good deals at Amazon, and one often overlooked trick is to search for “filler” products to bring your total to 25 bucks so you get the free shipping. I tried 3 different filler finding sites: SlickDeals.net, PriceTracker.com, and FillerItem.com. All 3 work basically the same way: enter the dollar amount of filler that you need (.46 in my case) and a list of available items around that price is returned. There are an amazing number of books and products for 49 cents. SlickDeals.net has the best interface but it’s worth it to check all 3 as they each return a slightly different list of filler products.
