Alexa provides a fairly accurate way to measure websites’ popularity. They’re probably the original in this field.

Alexa ranking are really, really suspect here. I have found that Compete.com is much more accruate than Alexa. It would be better yet to use Hitwise or some other data source. You just can’t believe anything that comes out of Alexa for ranking purposes.
