Chase Freedom Visa card $250 signup bonus

Update: This promotion has expired and the card is no longer available.

This is one of those fat signup bonus offers that I try not to miss. You know I like credit cards, don’t you? :-)

Go to chase.com and look for an ad like the one below. Refresh your browser a few times if you don’t see it right away. It is on the front page. Click on it to apply for a new Chase Freedom Visa card card.

After you sign up and make a purchase or balance transfer, you will receive $200 in bonus rebates which can be redeemed for a $250 check, according to the promo. I just applied and got an instant approval.

Important! The bonus offer is valid only for first-time cardmembers with new accounts. Only one bonus per account. Existing cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer. Read pricing and terms at this link.

Someone at FatWallet found this promo, the discussion is 10 pages long right now and everyone is just going nuts. ;-)

Man it’s so tempting… Just don’t want another CC!

I didn’t want either, but $250 sounds very convincing!

There’s been a lot of discussion on message boards as to whether those who hold other cards with Chase are eligible for the bonus. This has been of interest to me, since I have a Chase Amazon card. Then again, I’m not really looking for a new card at the moment, but I would still like to know – the wording is rather confusing.

Yeah, new accounts only. Coincidently I closed my wife’s Chase BP Visa just yesterday. Besides the point, Chase Freedom is a pretty good cash back card overall. I don’t know many other cards that give you 3% back on grocery, gas, and dining.

New to Chase, or new Freedom card holders? That is the question to be asked…I am trying to find that info now..thanks for the heads up!

The wording is confusing, but I interpetted it as needing to be a new Chase Freedom cardholder. And since I’m not a Freedom cardholder now, I signed up.

I still have a Chase Card that gives me 5% on grocery, gas, and drugstores. I couldn’t find it available now, so maybe it’s gone, but that’s my favorite. I’ve got another Chase one (a business one) that gives me 3% back at restaurant, home improvement, and office supply stores.

Chase.com banner was removed but the direct link is still functioning.

I received my card today. The bonus applies, according to the rep. I talked to on the phone.
