Alexa is very accurate as far as comparing websites within the same category since the visitor demographics is approximately the same.

Good point on yard sales and flea markets. These factors might not have a lot of influence but they sure have some.

I think the console shortages were driving a fair amount of traffic to gottadeal. Even though the Wii is still in short supply, I think the mad rush is over. Of course the holiday(and post-holiday) season being over is also a factor. Additionally yard sales and flea markets are starting up now.

Alexa is not 100% accurate.. It only tracks users who have the toolbar installed. Most average non-techies are not using the Alexa toolbar..

Thanks for your input, Dean. I can only say for my blog, and that is, neither my Alexa nor traffic has changed since February. ProBargainHunter however is not exactly in deals/coupons category so it is probably not a good example.

Nice compilation of sites Yan. My site http://www.mrcheapstuff.com Alexa rating has slid as well although traffic has not really dipped as the score suggests. I think you are right that growth in many other industries are growing much quicker therefore increasing the Alexa number of many sites.
