I don’t write about deals on individual products very often on my blog, that is why I run all these long lists over here, but this is a kind of “steal deal” that I simply can’t hold to myself.
This set of LED-based solar powered Malibu garden lights is currently available from Amazon in stainless steel and brushed copper finish for $49.99 (shipped) which is way down from the original price of $149. This is one of those “buy and forget about it” product, which I love. Each light comes with 2 rechargeable batteries which should last the LED inside for several hours after sunset.
I have a wired (powered from AC transformer) set of Malibu lights in my garden and I seriously consider an upgrade. I have two issues with my lights. One, the casing is made of plastic and is very fragile. Second, the lights are regular Malibu branded bulbs, cost around $5 for a set of 4 and burn out every other week. I think I already paid for replacements in 2 years enough to cover a new set of garden lights.
You might ask — why does one need garden lights when the winter is almost at the door?. Very simple. These lights will probably be around $100 when spring comes. Buy them now and save!

I also use solar garden lights…but not in the garden. My blog is about saving money and I have found that I can use these lights inside my home and not have to turn on lights.
I leave two in the bathroom and then when I have to get up at night to use the bathroom I do not need to use the electric lights.
I also have a couple in the living room and they provide light when I come home in the evening and it has already started to get dark.
You can also use them as night lights in children’s rooms.
