What do you think of niche deal sites? I got tired of a lot of the big deal sites because they had the same stuff that I wasn’t interested in. For example, I’m in the market for a new laptop maybe every 3-5 years, so I don’t need to see the latest discount on laptops daily.

The site I work for, thebargainqueen.com, is perhaps not as large as many other deal sites but one of the things that I appreciate is that we have a fairly clear idea of who we’re deal hunting for and what sort of things we want to present. Right now, most of our deals are fashion/beauty related and targeted towards women.

We might not have hundreds or even dozens of deals posted daily, but we writers carefully select each bargain and write our own description for our readers. It’s definitely more personal than most other bargain sites I’ve visited.

I’m curious to see how this venture goes, though, and if targeted sites can really succeed in the long run.

Bargains are often lost revenue for retail companies. Their only hope is to build user loyalty and increase market share when these happy customers refer their friends and relatives.

Just checked out boddit and wireddeals, do you know if they offer free email deal alerts like freshbargains? Trying to find it on Boddit, but can’t seem to find it. Wireddeals seems want to charge for it ($25/year)?

Was gonna compare and see if I can find something better.

How can retail companies survive will all these bargain sites out there!?

Almost all of these things apply to coupon sites as well. There are really of broad nature.

There are quite a few deal aggregators out there that may do the job for you. Try some here and here. I personally like http://www.boddit.com the best but tend to use http://wireddeals.com more often.

The only bullet point (#11) I’d like to add is the ability to aggregate all deals in one place. Imagine having the ability to search thru all your deal sites (FatWallet, SlickDeals, TechBargains, Deals2Buy, DealsPlus, etc) in one place!

For example, I was looking for a Canon SD800 last week. Normally I would go to BensBargains and TechBargains, and buy the best deal. Good thing I checked http://FreshBargains.net and got a cheaper deal from another deal site (DealNews).
