I first heard about deals2buy.com more than 4 years back. Initially my thoughts were same as yours, but the way it got popular has really surprised me.
Everyone I know of uses this site.May be site’s design simplicity might be its key to success.

i really don’t like this site; he only gives dell deals (and that’s also are at higher prices); though some deals are good but my overall experience of this site is too bad especially because this site don’t post the deals which are lowest but they post deals only form specific merchants. I think a more better choice would be Dealsofamerica.com

About deal archives. Search traffic is where most of the visitors come to for these sites and my guess is that the archives are designed to improve cross linking to older deals.

“occasional deal alert” looks nothing fancy. This sounds like a regular newsletter to me. Subscribe and you will get periodic emails with select deals.

I wondered into the WeeklyAds page (which looks like a collection of links to weekly specials from B&M merchants) and quickly realized that many links are not working.

Another problem was going back to Page 1 from all deal pages but today’s.

The site clearly needs a re-design and cleanup. I honestly would give it 6 or even lower score.

Nice review.

The content of the site is good, and I do like the “How to Get This Deal” instructions. But their layout/usability is pretty lacking. I guess the Alexa ranking proves that looks aren’t everything.
