Microsoft just announced from their blog the launch of a new loyalty program, Bing Rewards. It is nothing like Bing Cashback which the company shut down back in June and reminds me more of SearchPerks, the very first rewards program from Microsoft.
To participate you must install Bing toolbar and have a Windows Live ID. You get 250 credits at sign up and then one credit for every five Bing searches, and up to eight credits per day (according to Search Engine Land). You can exchange the credits for swag and other goodies. E.g $5 Amazon gift card is 541 credits (roughly 2 months of using Bing every day) and one Fandago movie ticket is 1506 credits (or 6 months of Bing punishment).

The change in rating shows the difference compared to July results. This list currently has 30 sites - one less than in July (flamingoworld.com is out). On average the coupon sites have lost (0.18%) in August.
The best performer this month is again couponcabin.com (11.45%) and the worst result comes from coolsavings.com (-19.31%). Enjoy the complete list below!

This can hardly be considered news since Techcrunch and a few other media outlets reported on it two months ago, yet I feel I am obliged to add my own opinion since this story affected me personally and in a big way. My long time readers sure know that rounding up deal sites every month is not the only thing I do in life as one would think by looking at the recent articles on this blog. So here is the gist of it.
In late 2007 I launched my latest project with Mike Glozman of CheapStingyBargains and things went fine for some time. 2010 however marked an important event, one I couldn’t tell you about earlier but now I can. My partner chose to quit Buxr leaving me as the sole owner and the main reason for doing so is in that Techcrunch’s report. WhaleShark bought Mike’s business and part of the agreement was that he would not run any other deal site. This obviously meant I had to pick up the tab and continue alone.

This is August 2010 revision of the Popular Price Comparison web sites list. You can find the last month revision of the list here.
The change in rating shows the difference compared to July results. The list has 32 web sites, the same number as the last month. There are 18 more sites in my database that don’t meet Alexa Rank < 100,000 requirement. The average price comparison site has gained (0.45%) this month
The best performer this month is like.com with a gain of (46.84%). All the publicity around them being bought by Google created a huge spike in traffic last month which obviously contributed to the Alexa rank increase. The second best is ebates.com (12.52%). The worst performer this month is again hawkee.com with a loss of (-16.89%). Please enjoy the complete list below.

The change in rating shows the difference compared to July results and includes all deal sites from my database that meet Alexa Rank < 100,000 requirement. A total of 33 sites have made it this month which is one more than last month. I missed shopping-bargains.com last month by accident
The average deal site lost just 1.03% in Alexa rank this month. The top gainer this month is bradsdeals.com (10.62%) and the top loser is cheapstingybargains.com (-20.94%) which beat deals.com (the former top loser) by a short margin. Please enjoy the complete list below.
