The average deal site gained 2.79% in Alexa rank this month with webbyplanet.com (10.84%) and anandtech.com (10.68%) in the lead. The top losers this month are couponalbum.com (-5.62%) and dealsofamerica.com (-5.02%). Please enjoy the complete list below.

The change in rating shows the difference compared to February results and includes all deal sites from my database that meet Alexa Rank < 100,000 requirement. The list has 41 sites, two less than the last month.

The average deal site lost 17.6% in Alexa rank this month with gottadeal.com (-88.3%) and dealsofamerica.com (-51.17%) losing most of all. The top gainers this month are webbyplanet.com (14.24%) and anandtech.com (12.75%).

Google had a page rank update at the beginning of the month and also there seems to be some sort of re-shuffle going on at Alexa. Not sure what exactly it is but many deal sites have suddenly dropped in ranking. If you have any clue - please leave a comment

The change in rating shows the difference compared to August results and includes all deal sites from my database that meet Alexa Rank < 100,000 requirement. I am sticking with the original limit as moving to 50,000 seems to cut some interesting sites.

The top gainer this month is buxr.com with a gain of (16.84%). It was really a surprise to me. I knew our site would break 100,000 threshold but I didn't think it would come out at the top! The worst performer is the forum anandtech.com (-38.47%) which was also at the bottom last month.

This month Google had a Page Rank update and it affected many deal sites in a negative way. Interestingly though that anandtech.com was one of the few who gained PR even though they lost Alexa rank. By the way, read this old interview with the founder. The guy was just 15 when he started the site in 1997!
